Ungifted

Ungifted, by Gordon Korman, is about a middle school student, Donovan. After causing a huge accident in his school, he is mistakenly put on the gifted list, and transferred to the gifted school. There, he meets genius students, some of which are on a robotics team. Donovan at first wants to explain it's a mistake, but with no one to pay for the damages he caused, and money tight in the family, he realizes if he doesn't keep up the act, his family could be in serious trouble. Unfortunately, it soon becomes apparent that he is not a genius. He is pressured into joining the robotics team, where he learns that some gifts are just harder to find.
I would recommend this book to people in 4th to 6th grade. It is pretty interesting, it's not boring, and it has memorable characters. I personally thought the ending was unexpected, but I liked the rest. I think that this is also really interesting to see a normal student's perspective of a gifted school. I would rate this book 6/10.
