The book, The Blood of Olympus is the last and final book in The Heroes of Olympus series. This book is a fantasy book, because there are monsters, gods, and magic involved throughout the story. In this book, the chosen seven, Percy, Leo, Hazel, Frank, Jason, Annabeth, and Piper continue on their quest to stop Gaea, the earth, from awakening and destroying the world. While the gods are going mad due to their different aspects, Gaea begins to bring back her children from the dead so that they can destroy the world. Meanwhile, the Greeks from Camp Half-Blood and the Romans from Camp Jupiter are preparing to go into war with each other and Nico, Coach Hedge, and Reyna have to deliver the Athena Parthenos to Camp Half-Blood to prevent the battle. Gaea is beginning to wake up and the fate of the world lies in the hands of the chosen seven. To storm or fire, the world must fall.
In my opinion, out of all the other books in The Heroes of Olympus series, I liked The Blood of Olympus the most. While a lot of people believe that the first book of most series's are the best, I liked the last book in The Heroes of Olympus series the best, because the chosen seven traveled together. Also, unlike the other books in the series, The Blood of Olympus focused on everyone in the book which made the story more interesting. Lastly, I liked this book a lot, because of its perspective changes, going back and forth between each of the characters point of view. However, you will have to read the other books in this series before reading The Blood of Olympus, because the book won't make any sense otherwise. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the Percy Jackson series and/or likes fantasy books that have a lot of action and comedy sprinkled throughout the story.
