Looking For Alaska by John Green

Looking For Alaska by John Green is about a boy named Miles "Pudge" Halter. Pudge's thing is last words. He loves knowing about famous people's last sentences before they kick the bucket. Tired of his old, boring, and familiar life, he goes to a boarding school in Alabama. He soon meets his new friend "Chip" and his mission is to try and teach Pudge to let go and have some fun. But there is a known group of snobby students that treat everyone else like the dirt underneath their shoes. Pudge wants nothing to do with them, until he meets a very different, and very pretty Alaska. Pudge can't help but fall for her, but what he doesn't know yet, he is in for the ride of his life. Love, Hate, Friendship, Rivalry, and Discovery. This book has it all.

This is one of my favorite John Green novels, due to the simple nature of it. It takes place in a real world very similar to ours. Since the setting is very simple and plain, you get to focus on the diversity of the characters. This is one of those books where you grow with the characters, and you actually learn something because of this book.
