The After-Room

(WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM THE APOTHECARY AND THE APPRENTICE)
The After-Room, by Maile Meloy, is the third and final installment in the Apothecary Series. In this book, set in 1955, Benjamin is living with Jamie after the passing of his father. They try to lead a normal life, despite the power to prevent nuclear disaster. It becomes harder and harder as Benjamin's grief and depression lead him to trying to contact the dead, and a meeting with a mysterious magician that knows more than he should. Meanwhile, Jin Lo washes up on a remote island with an American spy, where she discovers a deadly threat to China. Jamie and Benjamin must meet up with Jin Lo, Pip, and Vili to save the world from yet another nuclear disaster, all whilst trying to throw off the Mafia, United States Army, Chinese pirates, carabinieri, and their enemy, Danby.
I would recommend this book very highly. I read it incredibly fast, mainly due to the way the book sucks you into the story. The plot is full of adventure and suspense. Before reading this book, you should read The Apothecary, and The Apprentice, both equally awesome books that you will not be able to put down.
