Quentin "Q" has spent his whole life pining after Margo, a girl he will never have. They used to be friends, in like first grade, but now she is popular and Q is just a quiet, slightly nerdy wallflower at school. They're also neighbors, and that's important to know, because one night she comes through the window of his room and asks him to go on an adventure with her. An adventure of revenge. Through this, they do some pretty crazy stuff like break into SeaWorld and vandalize some stuff. Q is starting to like Margo, and he thinks she might like him too. Until the next morning, she disappears. Q, determined to make them work, goes on a mission uncovering clues he thinks she left behind, with the help of his two best friends, and Margo's ex best friend. Life for Q suddenly got a lot more interesting.
This is a very interesting book because it is told from a boy's perspective yet is very relatable to both girls and boys. Q is just growing up and trying to discover stuff for himself. It's a great coming of age story that I think everyone should read. This is probably my favorite John Green book.
