In class I’ve been reading the Fantasy novel Red Queen by author Victoria Aveyard. This story is about power filled silver blooded humans that dominate the red blood humans as we know them. However, one red blood found she has much more than than a color in her blood. Something not red or silver but stronger than both. Mare Barrow known by many titles, some including Mareena Titanos, or the Little Lightning girl, found she has red blood and powers only obtained by silvers. One blood mutation King Tiberias Calore hidd way before Mare was even born. In result, the rebellious Scarlet Guard, are now causing a civil war in Norta they are destined to win. While war is close to beginning, Mare became betrothed or engaged to price Maven Calore. Mare not only has to be married but also trained in her powers and unfortunately her manners. Everywhere Mare looks, there is another betrayal or another attack. Mare barely knows anything about the attacks, but the King let’s the people know less, a big mistake on the King. The attacks not only caused suspicion but controversy all over Norta.
I recommend that you read this amazing book because the author not only keeps you at the edge of your seat, but also feeds you amazing twist and turns in every corner. The characters are also surprisingly relatable. Mare, even though a girl, is found very relatable to me because she has struggle and betrayal and almost everyone experience these tough challenges in life. Also, each character has a small but interesting story and each character is completely different. These small details are what makes the story interesting and fun to read. Overall, Red Queen has tons of romance, suspense, and action that is almost unpredictable.
