Savvy, by Ingrid Law, follows Mibs. Her family is very special. All of them, except for he Dad, have special powers, known as Savvy's. Right before Mib's birthday, when she gets her Savvy, tragedy strikes. Her father is in a car accident, and in critical condition. Left alone in the care of a neighbor, Mibs and her brother must get ready for her Savvy. Mibs tries to get to their dad, thinking her Savvy is to wake people up. This leads to new friends, adventure, and most importantly, an unforgettable lesson.
I really love this book. The characters are so unique and the the idea is as well. You will be left wondering what happens next at the end of each chapter. I recommend this to kids from 3rd to 8th grade. The content is great, and the morals are meaningful.
