Uglies

     Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld is set in the future. In this world, everyone gets a surgery to turn themselves "pretty" at the age of sixteen. Tally Youngblood's best friend just got his surgery and moved into New Pretty Town and is feeling dejected and alone. She meets a new friend, Shay. Soon Tally discovers that Shay doesn't want to be pretty. Shay plans to escape to the "Smoke", a place where people run away to get away from the surgery. Tally tries to stop her, but Shay goes anyway. Soon the government involves Tally on a spy mission to infiltrate the Smoke and get Shay back. If she doesn't? Say good-bye to her dreams of being pretty.
       I really liked this book. It was really cool. I think the adventure is great. You will fall in love with the characters instantly. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.
