The book I am reading is Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne. The genre of this book is realistic fiction because natural disasters are a real life crisis and the characters have human traits .The book starts off on an average school day with Dean Grieber and his brother Alex. It is lightly storming out and Alex and dean get on the bus. It starts to storm heavily and the bus crashes and they go straight into a super store. They are with some fellow friends and stuck in there because of the weather and the bus had broke. Soon a toxic gas from a nearby science lab gets into the vents of the store. It is affecting people in different ways depending on your blood type. Will they find a way to make the gas stop? Will they escape the store? Will the storm stop? Read to find out.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves thrilling action stories with a hint of mystery. Monument 14 keeps you on the edge of your seat it ends the book making you wanna go right into the next book in the series. This is one of my favorite books I have ever read! The characters are hilarious and very sarcastic and I personally love hearing what they are saying. The detail in the book is so vivid you feel like you are actually there and experiencing it all with them. Overall this book is amazing and it is such a page turner.
