The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks is about a 90 year old man Ita, and how he is mourning the loss of his wife Ruth that died 9 years ago. He's reliving their life through flashes of old memories of their joys and sorrows like how they met, the dark days of World War II, and the beautiful paintings his wife Ruth loved so much.
Down a couple miles away, college senior Sophia doesn't realize it, but her life is going to change. When she meets rodeo cowboy Luke, and is introduced to as world very different from her old privileged and plain one. They instantly connect, and soon Sophia is faced with the dangers of Luke's life, and falling in love with him.
When Sophia and Luke save Ira from an unexpected accident, they get to know his life, and how similar it is to their own. Ira and Ruth. Sophia and Luke. Two couples separated by years, yet connected by hardships and love.
I love this book so much and it is definitely one of my favorite Nicholas Sparks books. You'll fall I love with every single character and will be moved by this incredible story. Definitely a perfect romance. This is a more teenage friendly Nicholas Sparks books due to the young lead characters, that's why I love it so much.
