The Hunger Games By Suzanne Collins

I’m reading the book, The Hunger Games. Katniss, the main character, is a lonely girl with a younger sister, Prim, and a depressed mother. She has to hunt everyday for food like squirrels and rabbits, leaving her family with a scarce amount of food. Since they don’t have much food, the Hunger Games is a fantastic opportunity to get fame and fortune. The Hunger Games are televised competitions that go to the last man standing, and I mean literally. The competitors actually fight to the death. The games happen once a year, and it’s one of the most awful things created. In the Games, a boy and girl are chosen from each of the twelve districts. Katniss is brave enough to volunteer to go instead of her frail, tiny sister. Will Katniss be able to outlast twenty-three other vicious, monstrous opponents?
This novel is marvelous! I dread reading, but I actually enjoy this story. It involves action, romance, and very daring moves. Despite the fact that the romance part is uninteresting, it is vital to the storyline. Suzanne Collins has a pure talent for fictional writing. It’s no wonder millions of copies of her book have been sold. I would recommend this book to boy or girl, tiny or tall, young or elderly; it’s great for all readers and even for people who don’t like to read. So if I can read it, you can read it!
