The Martian by Andy Weir

The book, The Martian is a thrilling and exciting science fiction book. In the beginning of the book Mark Watney and the rest of his crew are going to be the first people on the planet Mars. When they reach the planet they take samples to bring back to Earth. Suddenly, a storm comes up and blows dust everywhere. Mark is hit with a satellite dish that was blown away because of the strong wind. After minutes of trying to find Mark the rest of the crew thinks he is dead and leaves Mars heading back to Earth on their return ship. Mark actually does survive and finds the HAV which is a stable camp house on Mars. It is equipped with medical equipment and food. Mark is now stranded on Mars all by himself. Mark encounters countless problems with machinery, but continues to push forward trying to stay alive. Will NASA be able to bring Mark back to Earth?
You will have to read the book to find out.
My opinion on the book is that it is a very suspenseful and exhilarating read. Mark is always taking risks by messing with certain gadgets that help him with his survival. I like this book because you're always on the edge of your seat wondering if this will be the one mishap and Mark will be dead. Mark's character is developed so well throughout his actions. His courage, determination, and will to live is what keeps him going through all of his troubles. This is the exciting book of The Martian.
