Lockdown: Escape from the Furnace Author Alexander Gordon Smith. This genre of this book is action/drama. In this book, Alex and his friend were going to rob a pedestrians house in the middle of the night. When they got into the house, Alex's friend made sure that no one was home. After checking, they started to rob the house. Alex and his friend stole diamond necklaces, electrical items, and a t.v. Then, they heard something. Alex and his friend walked slowly to the door that they heard sounds coming from. when they opened it, there was a huge man in a gas mask was in the room. Alex was so scarred that he ran upstairs in the house into a bed room. Alex heard something again. Alex slowly walked down the stairs. Alex saw that the man shot one his friend. Then,the man gave the Alex the gun, so his finger prints would be on it. Then, the cops showed up and took Alex to jail for murder. When Alex's trial was going on, the verdict was that Alex was sent to a kid penitentiary for the rest of his life in the Earths crust. In the penitentiary, there are monsters that kill the kids if they aren't in their cell when they have to be.
While i was reading this action packed book, I didn't want to stop reading. the book was so interesting and there were cliff hangers on the end of each chapter. I liked this book so much that I have read the complete series. Out of all the books that I have ever read, this is the best so far. This book describes the setting of every place that Alex goes to very well that you can picture it in your head. I would recomend this book to anyone who likes action books.
