On a hot summer day, in the state of Washington, a boy by the name of Eli and his family was told by his billionaire dad Rex that they needed to escape to the compound he had built because there was a nuclear war going on around them. He told them they had to remain there for 6 years before they can leave. Unfortunately, two family members didn't make it. Eli's twin brother and grandmother. According to Rex, they died. In the compound, everything in their life was duplicated, even Eli's twin brother's bedroom. In a flash, the world they knew was gone, and they had to get accustomed to their new life. They did adjusted, but they weren't happy. No amount of luxury can stifle the dull routine of living in the same place, with only his two sisters, only his father and mother, doing the same thing day after day after day. As problems with their carefully planned existence threaten to destroy their sanctuary—and their sanity—Eli can’t help but wonder if he’d rather take his chances outside. Eli’s father built the Compound to keep them safe. But are they safe—really?
I like this book because of all the action that is going on. There are twists and turns around every corner. It was suspenseful, thrilling and completely captivating. You could never predict what was going to happen next. It had a slow start, but the storyline was awesome.I also liked it for all the details of everything that happened. I would rate this a 10 out of 10 and recomend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery book. I never read a book by this author but I might now. This was a really good book and one of the best I've read.
