Eragon by Christopher Paolini

Image result for eragon summary          The book I've chosen to write about is the book Eragon, the first volume in the Inheritance saga by Christopher Paolini; full of dragons, elves, dwarves, and Shades, this book is definitely fantasy. This book is about a farmer's nephew named Eragon. When he finds a beautiful, but mysterious "stone" while hunting in the Spine, an infamous region of a nearby forest, things begin to spiral out of control. A dragon hatches from the "stone" (which is actually an egg), Eragon becomes a Dragonrider, his uncle is fatally wounded in an attempt on Eragon's life, and he becomes public enemy #1. The corrupt ruler of Eragon's realm uses power to control his citizens, but cannot control Eragon or his new dragon, Saphira. In order to escape, Eragon must journey with Brom, an ancient storyteller with a perplexing past, to a secret safe haven for rebels seeking to escape the influence of the realm's evil ruler.
I would recommend Eragon to anyone who enjoys fantasy or mystery. It is a long book and part of an even longer saga, but it barely allows you to feel bored. With constant plot twists and mini-climaxes throughout the book, you are sure to remain on the edge of your seat. In addition to the suspense and action, there is also mystery. Eragon is always in the dark as to what is actually going on at the rebel stronghold. There is also irregularity surrounding Brom's and Eragon's pasts. This book is a real page-turner and I found it to be a highly recommendable read.
