Eleanor and Park

The title of my book is Eleanor and Park. This book is written by Rainbow Rowell and it is a realistic fiction book. This book is realistic fiction because families in real life can be just as dysfunctional as Eleanor's. In the story, Eleanor moves to a new house with her Mom, her step-dad, and all her little siblings. She starts high school, but it goes terribly. Right from when she steps on the bus she already feels like she doesn't belong. Everyone else has said "assigned seats" given to them by each other. Eleanor doesn't have a seat anywhere, so she just continues to walk towards the back of the bus. Before she gets to the "belly of the monster" AKA the back of the bus with all the popular kids, Park, a shy Asian kid, pulls her into his seat. She is very grateful but too shy to say anything, so they ride the bus in silence. They continue to sit side by side in silence until one day Park catches Eleanor reading his comic over his shoulder. The next day Park brings a stack of comics for Eleanor, and thus a love story is born.
I loved this book so very much. It was the perfect mix between a romance book and a suspense book. This book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, but it will always leave you wanting more. You never know how Eleanor's dad will treat her, and you never know if her mom will be OK. This story is also told in the points of view of Eleanor and Park, which gives you a good idea of the whole story. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance book. I would say this book is more aimed towards girls ages 13-16. I loved it so much and I hope you love it just as much as me.
