Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 is an action packed science fiction novel about people with supernatural abilities. Michael Vey is as teenage boy with Tourette's syndrome that has the ability to pulse or surge electricity out of his hands. Soon he meets a girl named Taylor who also has a special ability, and he can't believe it. To make matters more coincidental, they both receive a letter of acceptance to a prestigious boarding school that they've never heard of. On top of all of these new questions rushing through his mind, his Mom is taken by a mysterious group of people with special abilities just like him. With the help of his new-found friend Taylor, and his life-long friend Osten, they are in a race against time to save his mom and find answers.
I really enjoyed this novel due to the fast-paced adventure weaved throughout. There was never a dull moment and there were always questions looming in the back of your mind. The characters all have unique personalities and you'll find yourself relating to Michael even though he has supernatural powers. It will leave you wanting more, and running to go pick up the next book in the series.
